As past of Hindu Heritage Month 2020 celebrations, the Hindu Federation hosted a virtual cultural program on November 22, 2020. The three hour program (a copy of which is attached), included wonderful performances by representatives from 10 Hindu Federation member organizations. It also included messages (written and virtual) by elected officials, including The Premier of Ontario, the Consular General of India, a number of Mayors from the GTA (Mississauga, Markham, Pickering, Brampton and Ajax) and The Regional Municipality of Durham.
As part of Hindu Heritage Month 2020 celebrations, the Hindu Federation organized a motorcade in The Town of Ajax to show support and appreciation for Front Line and Essential Workers at The Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering Hospital, as well as to celebrate the Hindu Festival of Diwali.
Approximately 125 cars assembled at the Harwood Plaza in Ajax to participate in this event, many of them decorated with banners, and illumnated with 'Happy Diwali" signs.
As part of Hindu Heritage Month 2020 celebrations, the Hindu Federation hosted a virtual Multi-Faith Forum on November 18, 2020, the theme of which was "How to make Canada a more pluralistic society".

In December 2016, through an Act embedded in Bill 56, The Province of Ontario proclaimed the month of November as Hindu Heritage Month in recognition of the immense contributions that Hindu Canadians have made across all fields of endeavor in the Province.
As per the City's Fireworks By-law, residents must be aware of the following regulations:
Fireworks may only be set off on Statutory Holidays such as Victoria Day, Canada Day, Chinese New Year, Diwali or on a day for which a permit has been issued by the Fire Chief and only on the property listed within the permit.
The Hindu Federation met on July 22, 2015 with representatives from the City of Pickering, the Town of Ajax, the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and the Toronto Region Conservation Authority to discuss an upgrade to the ashes disposition site at the foot of Squires Beach Road in Pickering.
