Hindu Federation has been continuing its dialogue and taking steps to remove reference in any form to Swastika, our Cherished Historic / Vedic symbol (and that of other religious groups) , from Bill C 229.
Pandit Roopnauth Sharma, President of the Hindu Federation, explored this further with the Bill Sponsor, MP Peter Julian.
As a result of this, both parties agreed to capture Hindu Federation’s views and feedback, as well as the steps the Bill Sponsor is undertaking to remove any reference to "Swastika" in the Bill, in the form of a Video. It is hoped that there will be a national campaign to improve awareness of the Swastika's importance in the lives of Hindus (and other religious groups) and in our religious practices.
