The Ontario Liberal Caucus celebrated India"s 68th Independence at Queens Park on Thursday August 13th. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynn hosted the event with Associate Minister and MPP Dipika Damerla being the master of ceremonies. Guest of honour was Consulate General of India Council General Mr Akhilesh Mishra. Also present were other members the government. Invited guests were prominent business organizations representing the Indian diaspora and and religious organizations.
In her Speech to the gathering Premier Wynn reiterated the importance Ontario placed on the bilateral relations with India. The premier is looking forward to a visting India soon as part of a trade delegation to shore up our business interests with the South Asian country.The delegation is expected to visit many cities in India. Mr Misra emphasized in his speech the importance India places in its partnership with the government of Ontario and the business companies. Ram Mandir was represented by its Spiritual Leader Pandit Roopnauth Sharma who is also the president of the Hindu Federation.
